Welcome! Over the years, I've had the privilege of helping people in many different ways through my various roles in the mental health field. These experiences have given me a unique set of skills that I use to support each of my clients. I primarily work with adults aged 18 and older, helping them navigate life transitions, college readiness and adjustment, work and career-related challenges, career changes, and pandemic-related issues.
My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that people are generally doing the best they can. I believe that most of us come to therapy to break negative patterns and cycles in our lives and become healthier versions of ourselves. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. While I often use a mix of psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, my therapeutic style is eclectic. This means I draw from various approaches and theories, tailoring my methods to each client's emotional and psychological needs and their goals for therapy.
Originally from West Texas, I moved to San Antonio in 2000. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Texas Tech University, I completed my Master's degree in Counseling at UTSA in 2002, and my Ph.D. in Psychology from Walden University in 2012.
Outside of my work life, I'm a mom and used to love to travel before I started paying for my child's college. I look forward to working with you on your journey to better mental health!
